TTT: Books I Wish Could Have Sequels

Books I Wish Could Have Sequels

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they have a different Top Ten list topic that a bunch of bloggers take and make their own list of those things. This week is Top Ten books that you wish could have sequels.
I've limited myself to only stand-alones, but a lot of my series haven't ended yet so I can't know if I want more of them yet. And a good percentage of the series that are finished I would actually like more of. So I'm just doing stand-alones.
This was kind of difficult for me because I don't actually read that many stand-alones. I prefer series because you have more time to get to know the characters and the world (and most books are series now anyway). But I'm going to try to reach ten. I think I can do it (positive thinking, right?).

Keep in mind that these aren't books that I think should have sequels, most of them have perfectly satisfactory endings and are, in and of themselves, complete stories. These are the books that I wish I could spend a bit more time in and the characters I wish I could spend a bit more time with.

Eleanor & Park1. Eleanor & Park
The ending of Eleanor & Park was really poetic and beautiful, but DANG IT I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing their relationship get even stronger as time goes on either.

The Phantom Tollbooth2. The Phantom Tollbooth
I read (and loved) this book for the first time in fourth grade. The world that Milo finds himself in is hilarious and pun-filled (and also fun-filled). It's full of playful and quirky characters and I just really wish there were more books set there.

The Princess Bride 3. The Princess Bride
Yet another hilarious book. I love this book and I love its movie. Just like The Phantom Tollbooth, it's funny and quirky in a really clever way. It plays off the regular fairy tale dynamic in way that is downright hilarious.

Fairest (Enchanted, #3)4. Fairest
I want more Aza and Ijori! I want to see them raising their kids and ruling the kingdom and living everyday life! Please?! Can I please have this?  You know, them fighting trolls together and Zhamh watching the kids for them! Oh my goodness, I didn't realize how much I needed this...

Ella Enchanted5. Ella Enchanted
Again, if you want to be all technical this has a companion novel. But the same reasoning goes for this book as I used for Fairest. It's the only time we're in Frell. And also the same goes for wanting to see Ella and Char raise their kids and rule their kingdom.

Little Women
6. Little Women
Okay, so the ending of this book is really wonderful. But if Louisa May Alcott wrote it, I would read every single moment of the March sisters' lives in any number of books.

                  7. The Host
The Host (The Host, #1)Apparently, I am really bad at following the rules. But, this book is possibly getting a sequel. I mean, Meyer has released multiple statements saying that she's going to, but after both times she announced that nothing has happened. So I'm just going to put out there that I wouldn't mind more information on this world. Not everything was that well developed, but it has potential.

Going Vintage8. Going Vintage
This book was so cute and a genuinely good, lighter contemporary (which I almost never think about contemporary books). It wasn't cheesy in the slightest and I enjoyed all the dynamics of the relationships. I would love seeing these characters again.

Dragonfly9. Dragonfly
The world-building in this book was pretty good and I would love to see it expanded. The characters were also pretty good. I think with another book or two they could reach a really great depth.

The Help

10. The Help
A gorgeous book that is very important. The characters are so realistic and I really want to read more about what happens after the book.
